Music streaming platform Spotify named Bad Bunny the most listened-to artist in 2025.
Spotify released its Spotify Wrapped on Wednesday, revealing that Bad Bunny’s 2025 album DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS was the most listened to album globally. Bad Bunny’s 2022 album Un Verano Sin Ti was also ranked as the 10th most-streamed album this year. Over 700 million listeners use Spotify worldwide.
Bad Bunny, whose legal name is Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio, was named Spotify’s top artist first in 2020 and then for the next three consecutive years. Since 2023, he has consistently ranked among the top five artists on the music streaming platform. So far this year, Bad Bunny has received 19.8 billion streams.
“This four-time achievement isn’t just about one artist’s success. It’s about the global nature of today’s music audience,” Spotify said of Bad Bunny in a release. “Spanish-language music is reaching fans everywhere. Regional genres are moving onto the global stage. The borders are gone.”
While Bad Bunny began his career as a rapper, he has moved into salsa music.
Spotify also produced a minute-long video on the impact of Bad Bunny’s last album. The video features an animated frog, Sapo Concho, which means frog in Spanish.
Earlier this year, Bad Bunny was announced as the headline performer for the 2026 Super Bowl, which drew some backlash, including from President Donald Trump.
When asked for comment, a White House spokesperson directed the Washington Examiner to Trump’s previous remarks regarding the rapper.
BAD BUNNY TO PERFORM AT SUPER BOWL HALFTIME DESPITE TRUMP IMMIGRATION POLICIES HALTING US TOUR
“I never heard of him. I don’t know who he is, I don’t know why they’re doing it. It’s like, crazy. Then they blame it on some promoter that they hired to pick up entertainment,” Trump said of Bad Bunny in an October interview with Newsmax.
Trump made history as the first sitting president to attend the Super Bowl, and Bad Bunny could perform for the president if he decides to attend the Super Bowl again. Bad Bunny has expressed opposition to Trump’s immigration policies and endorsed former Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election.
