When President Donald Trump pitched new names to his supporters, his son Donald Trump Jr. suggested he stick with the former “Trumplican” name from his father’s first term.
“There is a new word for a TRUMP REPUBLICAN, which is almost everyone (GREAT POLICY IS THE KEY!). It is, TEPUBLICAN??? Or, TPUBLICAN???” the president wrote on Truth Social Wednesday.

Trump Jr. responded on X, writing, “Shouldn’t it really be Trumplican???”
This post comes as Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) announced her resignation from Congress despite being a self-proclaimed “MAGA Republican.” However, Greene suggested during an interview with Tucker Carlson that the Make America Great Again movement had been “hijacked” and “moved away from the campaign promises of America first.”
However, the term “Trumplican” has a storied history as it was coined by Omarosa Manigault Newman, the former director of the White House’s Office of Public Liaison during Trump’s first term. Manigault Newman was a contestant on Trump’s reality television show, The Apprentice, during its first season and has admitted to voting for former Presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama.
“Traditionally, African Americans have been Democrats. I think that the Democrats have taken advantage and taken for granted the African American vote. We are seeing a huge movement of African Americans moving to the Republican side. And that’s what I did. I’m a Trumplican,” Manigault Newman said just before joining the Trump administration.

Ultimately, Manigault Newman was fired from the White House and went on to publicly oppose Trump. After being fired, a judge ordered Manigault Newman to pay a $61,585 fine for failing to comply with financial disclosure requirements after being fired from the White House.
The Washington Examiner has reached out to Manigault Newman for comment.
