Democrats are the unquestioned party of political violence

.

With the election of Jay Jones as Virginia‘s next attorney general, the Democratic Party has proven that it is the unquestioned party of political violence.

Jones will immediately become one of the worst elected officials in the country upon taking office in January. In text messages, Jones said he would rather shoot former GOP Virginia House Speaker Todd Gilbert twice than shoot Adolf Hitler and called Gilbert’s young children “little fascists,” adding how great it would be if those children died in their mother’s arms so she and Gilbert would change their political positions.

JEFFRIES SAYS JAY JONES HAS ‘APPROPRIATELY APOLOGIZED’ FOR WHAT HE SAID IN LEAKED TEXTS

Again, Jones considers it a political victory if children die in their mother’s arms. He considers it a good thing and something he wants to see happen. And these are things Jones texted to a Republican. He wanted her to know that is how he views his political opponents.

Now, he’s going to be the highest-ranking law enforcement official in Virginia, a job he obviously will not perform fairly. It’s impossible for a man filled with political hatred, as Jones is, to actually protect all Virginians, and there can be no doubt that his hateful bias will control his decision-making.

The problem is not just that Democratic voters backed Jones, although that is a problem. It’s that Republican voters dumped scandal-ridden candidates such as North Carolina gubernatorial nominee Mark Robinson in 2024 and Alabama Senate nominee Roy Moore in 2017. Jones’s fantasizing about children being killed apparently was not a disqualifying position from the party of “hate has no home here.”

WHAT OBAMA’S VIRGINIA RALLY WITH JAY JONES TELLS YOU ABOUT HIS LEGACY

But the far greater problem is that no Democratic lawmakers called on Jones to drop out of the race. We heard about how his comments were “completely indefensible,” “appalling,” or “abhorrent,” but Democrats still encouraged voters to elect Jones anyway. That goes for Gov.-elect Abigail Spanberger (D-VA), Sens. Tim Kaine (D-VA) and Mark Warner (D-VA), both of whom defended the “indefensible” Jones comments by saying it was out of character for the man they knew, and every national Democrat, including former President Barack Obama, who held a rally that included Jones for the Democratic ticket. There was one Democrat who actually condemned Jones: Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA) said he “wouldn’t support” him after the revelation of the texts.

There’s no question that the Democratic Party is the home of political violence. It was obvious before this election, as left-wing violence and domestic terrorism have run rampant compared to the few examples of recent right-wing violence. There certainly is no doubt now, as Democrats protected Jones’s campaign, urged voters to support him, and will now let him serve four years despite it being clear he is unfit to hold the position. Other election winners may be the new faces of the Democratic Party, but Jones shows where the party’s conscience currently lies.
