Study showing increase in left-wing violence omitted numerous acts of left-wing violence

.

The tragic assassination of conservative Republican activist Charlie Kirk was a grotesque display of left-wing intolerance. To many on the Right, this is nothing new. The Left has regularly touted the importance of diversity and inclusion in speech, but has done the exact opposite in practice. However, Kirk’s murder was also a revelation of a more terrifying phenomenon plaguing the country: left-wing political violence. It might have also been a turning point in the general population’s acknowledgment and recognition of the Left’s bloodthirsty dogma.

Yet, even a recent study confirming that the Left’s increase in violence raises red flags when reading its finer details. The study, “Left-Wing Terrorism and Political Violence in the United States: What the Data Tells Us,” by the Center for Strategic and International Studies, includes a “What is Excluded” section, which lists the numerous acts of left-wing violence it omitted in its calculations. Among the skipped incidents are murders, assaults, vandalism, and arson attacks.

In the study’s authors’ minds, the “Tesla terrorists” from earlier this year were not considered left-wing violence. Instead, they categorized it as “economic vandalism rather than terrorism.” Additionally, the study did not consider “three high-profile terrorist attacks in the United States in the first half of 2025 motivated by the conflict between Israel and Palestine.” The omitted acts included the arson attack on Gov. Josh Shapiro‘s (D-PA) mansion, the murder of the staff members of the Israeli Embassy in Washington, D.C., and the firebombing incident in Boulder, Colorado, where pro-Israel supporters were attacked.

Furthermore, the study also omitted the violent attacks, riots, and protests against “immigration and customs enforcement activity across the United States in 2025.”

Yes, you read that correctly.

Two murders, an act of arson, a firebombing incident, and left-wing attacks on law enforcement officers were in the “What is Excluded” section of the much-ballyhooed study about left-wing violence in the U.S. With decisions and flawed logic such as this, it’s no wonder the study mentions the previous discrepancy in left-wing and right-wing violence. The authors of this research admitted they are not counting acts of left-wing violence when calculating … the number of acts of left-wing violence.

While being celebrated by many on the Right for highlighting the precipitous rise in left-wing violence, the study should also be criticized for its questionable research practices and methodologies in what it considers left-wing violence, compared to how right-wing violence is classified. No wonder it found that “the United States has seen an increase in the number of left-wing terrorism attacks and plots” and that “2025 marks the first time in more than 30 years that left-wing terrorist attacks outnumber those from the violent far right.” One could only begin to imagine how many other instances of left-wing violence were excluded over the years.

Yet, as shocking as it was for a policy research organization to finally admit that left-wing violence in the country is a major problem, the study also seemed to do so begrudgingly, reading almost as if there was some kind of organizational disappointment to admit the Left has become dangerously violent. It arguably comes off as if the authors are on the verge of apologizing for having to recognize that the Left is more violent than the Right. Consider these words:

Our analysis of terrorism trends in the United States shows that, indeed, left-wing violence has risen in the last 10 years, particularly since President Donald Trump’s rise to political prominence in 2016, although it has risen from very low levels and remains much lower than historical levels of violence carried out by right-wing and jihadist attackers. More contentious politics in the United States and the expansion of the Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement appear to have reenergized violent left-wing extremists.

First, it stipulates that recent left-wing violence has “risen from very low levels,” which many people who experienced the Occupy Wall Street, Black Lives Matter, and antifa riots over the last 15 years might be shocked to find out. Moreover, one could legitimately argue that such violent chaos and destruction began much earlier, starting in 2000, after George W. Bush was declared the winner of that year’s presidential election. Did everyone forget the violence that occurred during Bush’s first inauguration in January 2001, proudly documented by left-wing filmmaker Michael Moore in Fahrenheit 9/11?

Next, the revelation and admission of contemporary left-wing violence seemed to come with its own disclaimer, repeatedly mentioning how it is only a recent development. It also appears to blame the surge in violence on President Donald Trump‘s presidential campaigns, administrations, and supporters. And, as mentioned above, the study repeatedly continues to emphasize how abnormal left-wing violence has been over the years, and how “striking” the increase is.

CHRISTIAN NATIONALISM, CHARLIE KIRK, AND THE USEFUL IDIOTS OF LEFT-WING HATE

It’s nice to finally see research that acknowledges how violent the Left in the U.S. has become. After years of demonizing their political rivals and opponents, manipulating public opinion, and influencing millions of citizens, liberals, Democrats, and others on the Left have finally been exposed. However, people should also take umbrage with the authors’ logic, methodology, and decision-making practices. It’s rife with inconsistencies and illogical admissions.

Furthermore, after nearly a generation’s worth of violence, in which most people can easily recall numerous acts of left-wing violence but struggle to admit a similar number of acts of right-wing violence, such distortions and seemingly obvious biases should not be tolerated. Unfortunately, it’s indicative of flawed research, apparently predicated more on political ideologies and agendas than facts — a far too common occurrence against conservatives and Republicans in this country.
