Democrats embrace socialism’s failures as the party’s future

.

Democrats are hurdling toward becoming the party of socialism, embracing the failed ideology right after voters made it clear in the 2024 elections that the party is too radical.

Gallup found that capitalism has its lowest approval rating (54%) in the United States since 2010, the first time the polling outlet asked this question. That is being driven by Democrats, whose approval has dropped below 50% for the first time, with just 42% viewing capitalism in a positive way. Meanwhile, Democratic approval of socialism is at 66%, the highest it has ever been. For comparison, independents still have a 51% approval rating of capitalism, while their approval of socialism has dropped over the years to 38%.

MINNEAPOLIS SOCIALISM IS DIRECTING THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY

Meanwhile, in New York City, socialist Zohran Mamdani is pulling away in polls of the mayoral race. Mamdani is pulling 46% against the divided field he is running against. The most competitive one-on-one matchup, with former Gov. Andrew Cuomo, still shows Mamdani leading 48% to 44%. Mamdani is dominating Cuomo among voters under the age of 45.

The chatter from Democrats, especially from their liberal media allies, is that Mamdani offers them a future for the party. Mamdani is a polished speaker, but he is also running against a corrupt former governor. His socialism sells well in New York City, where nearly 70% of voters are Democrats. But Democrats seem increasingly convinced that Mamdani’s optimistic messaging and socialist policies are a winning combination that can be replicated across the country.

MAMDANI’S GOVERNMENT GROCERY STORES PLAN IS BASED ON AN ACCOUNTING ERROR

It evidently does not matter that the same socialist policies Mamdani supports are currently failing in Kansas City. Nor does it matter that the country’s third biggest city, Chicago, is living through the failures of its socialist mayor. Nor does it matter that socialism never works and that it privileges rich left-wing elites at the expense of normal workers, nor that Mamdani is one of those elites (Mamdani is the son of a Columbia professor and a movie producer and just got married at his family’s heavily armed compound in Uganda). Through all these failures and all these contradictions, Democrats still want to become the party of socialism.

Just as the Democratic Party has shifted toward supporting Hamas terrorists in Gaza, the party is shifting to more radical positions on the economy. Democrats were bludgeoned by voters in 2024 for their radicalism and for their disastrous federal spending plans, and the only path forward they see is to become more radical and more reckless with taxpayer money, in the mold of an antisemitic socialist running in one of the most left-wing cities in the country.
