Fast food chain Steak n’ Shake slammed Cracker Barrel on Thursday, advertising new hats to “save Cracker Barrel!”
Cracker Barrel said it will keep its original logo on Tuesday after a new, simplified logo received widespread criticism. Steak n’ Shake was among the new logo critics, calling the rebrand “bland, soulless, and an unnecessary waste of money” on X Tuesday.
The fast food chain is now selling hats, one of which calls for Cracker Barrel CEO Julie Masino’s firing. The hats resemble President Donald Trump’s iconic “Make America Great Again” brand, as both have bold white lettering against a bright red background.
Another hat Steak n’ Shake is selling reads, “Biglari was right about Cracker Barrel,” referring to Steak n’ Shake CEO Sardar Biglari. This is likely a nod to the “Trump was right about everything” hats that Trump unveiled in February.

Trump encouraged Cracker Barrel to return to its old logo on Tuesday and congratulated the chain for doing so later that day. Steak n’ Shake reposted Trump’s statement on X, saying, “Americans are grateful Cracker Barrel heard” the president.
Steak n’ Shake is among the food companies contributing to the Trump administration’s “Make America Healthy Again” initiative, ditching its seed oils in favor of beef tallow and Wisconsin butter. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert Kennedy Jr. visited one of the chain’s locations with Fox News’s Sean Hannity in March, praising the changes.
