Tucker Carlson says Trump and Musk cannot be ‘two alpha b****es in the same kitchen’

Tucker Carlson said President Donald Trump’s split with billionaire Elon Musk stemmed from the two “dominant men” being unable to share the spotlight.

Musk’s split came from disagreements over the One Big Beautiful Bill Act last month, with the SpaceX owner now seeking to start his own third party to oppose Trump. Carlson said the fallout of Trump and Musk’s bromance was “probably about a lot of different things,” but was likely due to how only one of them could be the “alpha dog” of the pack.

“You can’t have two alpha b****es in the same kitchen,” Carlson said Sunday on the Culture Apothecary podcast. “I just had that actually over the Fourth of July. ‘Gerrr!’ You know what I mean?”

“I mean, you see this in families when you have a patriarchal figure … and then sometimes he’s got tension with his son,” Carlson said. “It’s hard for dominant men to share the stage. That’s just a fact.”

Carlson said no one could convince him that Musk is “a bad guy,” despite having some “kooky” views he does not agree with. He praised the billionaire for giving the United States “free speech,” saying X was the resurgence of free speech in the nation.

Carlson also criticized the Trump administration’s “tragic” stance on its investigation into Jeffrey Epstein, in which the FBI and Justice Department determined the convicted sex trafficker had no “client list.” Carlson said the administration is giving the impression that it is “covering up for an international blackmail ring.”

Carlson also said FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino got “shafted” by Attorney General Pam Bondi’s handling of the Epstein investigation. He also said it will be “very hard” for Bongino to become a podcast host again when his fans believe “he’s covering up for Epstein.”

Musk demanded that Trump release the files on Epstein “as promised,” saying this is a “very big deal.” Musk, who previously accused Trump of being in the files, also said releasing these files would be a priority for his “America Party.”

Trump, meanwhile, has called Musk’s third-party effort “ridiculous.”
