Rep. Majorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) attempted to silence Rep. Melanie Stansbury’s (D-NM) interruptions during a hearing on the Department of Government Efficiency, proceeding to cite a “point of order.”
Greene, the chairwoman of the subcommittee of Delivering On Government Efficiency, recognized Rep. Greg Casar (D-TX) during Tuesday’s hearing, in which the lawmaker expressed concerns about DOGE cuts on U.S. services available to veterans, including the stalling of trials for veterans with throat cancer. He also accused the DOGE cuts, along with changes enacted by President Donald Trump, of approximately doubling the wait times it takes to process a Social Security claim, citing “a brave whistleblower.
In response, Greene argued that “no one loves veterans more than President Trump,” and that this is why the president is fighting for peace. Stansbury could then be heard trying to tell Greene she was “not recognized” to speak, to which the Georgia Republican reminded her she was the committee’s chairwoman.
“Miss Stansbury, you’re not recognized,” Greene said repeatedly, bashing her gavel multiple times as she spoke.
Greene: No one loves veterans more than President Trump
Stansbury: It’s not your time
Greene: I’m the chair. You’re not recognized. *bangs gavel*
Stansbury: You’re not recognized either.

Greene then called for a “point of order,” after which Stansbury asked her to “calm down” and ask to “move on.” Shortly after this feud, Greene recognized Rep. Brandon Gill (R-TX) to speak for five minutes, to which he started his statement by thanking her and saying, “It never gets boring in here.”

Later in the hearing, Rep. Brian Jack (R-GA) questioned a sign behind Stansbury, which claimed a poll had found that 67% disapprove of DOGE’s work against 38% in support and 5% who did not know. Jack noted that the sum of the statistics added up to 110%, to which Stansbury stated that it was from a Quinnipiac poll and that a “wealth of information” was available.

*gibberish*@RepMTG: “It still adds up to 110%. That’s a fake poll right there!”

Greene, however, argued the statistics still equaled 110%, calling it “a fake poll right there.”
The House Oversight Committee posted on X to back up Greene’s sentiment. “Checks out. They get an F for effort.”
