President Donald Trump on Saturday renewed his criticism of his predecessor, former President Joe Biden, and his alleged use of an “autopen” after audio from the ex-president’s interview with former Special Counsel Robert Hur was leaked.
Part of the audio from the Hur interview was released by Axios on Friday, after the Biden Justice Department had declined to release it and the Trump Justice Department had said it would look into releasing it. Hur’s report detailed Biden’s “significantly limited” memory and expressed concerns over the then-president’s mental acuity, drawing questions about how much power Biden really had.
The GOP-led House Oversight Committee announced Friday it would look into Biden’s alleged use of an autopen to issue last-minute pardons before leaving office in January. Trump took aim at Biden’s autopen controversy and claimed it was a crime in a lengthy post on Truth Social.
“Whoever had control of the ‘AUTOPEN’ is looking to be a bigger and bigger scandal by the moment. It is a major part of the real crime, THAT THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION OF 2020 WAS RIGGED AND STOLEN! Millions and millions of people knew that, but the Radical Left Democrats waged a campaign of inoculation and innocence like none that had ever been waged before,” he wrote.
Trump also took aim at the defunct House Jan. 6 committee, which looked into the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot, and received pardons from Biden shortly before he left office.
“THIS IS WHY THE UNSELECT COMMITTEE OF POLITICAL THUGS, WHO WERE GIVEN A FULL AND COMPLETE PARDON BY THE PERSON WHO WIELDED THE NOW ILLEGALLY USED AUTOPEN, DELETED AND DESTROYED ALL EVIDENCE AND INFORMATION FROM THEIR CORRUPT AND VICIOUS WITCH HUNT AGAINST ME, AND MANY OTHER PEOPLE, WHOSE LIVES WERE COMPLETELY SHATTERED AND DESTROYED BY THIS HISTORICALLY CRIMINAL EVENT,” Trump said.

The president then claimed the autopen controversy is “just the beginning” in terms of crimes that were committed by his enemies. Trump also repeated his claims that his 2020 election loss was “rigged,” and that he won the presidential election that year despite Biden’s victory being confirmed and the then-former vice president being sworn in.
“Remember, it all began with DIRTY COP James Comey, Obama, a hapless and cognitively impaired Sleepy Joe Biden, and my now very famous ACCUSATION that, ‘THEY SPIED ON MY CAMPAIGN!’ Whoever had control of the Autopen is just the beginning. The biggest crime of all is that THE 2020 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION WAS RIGGED! I (MAGA!) WON THE ELECTION BY MILLIONS OF VOTES, AND EVERYONE KNOWS IT. GOD BLESS AMERICA, FOR THE FIGHT HAS JUST BEGUN!!!” Trump added.
