Former Vice President Kamala Harris gave a speech Wednesday night that many believe will be her reentry into the country’s political landscape. But after listening to her talk and cackle for slightly under 20 minutes, it felt as if her 2024 presidential campaign never ended. Her speech’s contents were dark, divisive, and filled with performative hyperbolic hysterics. She frantically warned of constitutional crises and predicted impending doom. The only thing she seemed to leave out from her 2024 rhetoric was calling President Donald Trump a fascist or Nazi.
Harris gave her speech at an event that coincided with Trump’s 100th day in office. Interestingly, her speech also came at a time when Trump was particularly vulnerable to a number of political issues, such as chaos from tariffs and the U.S. economy contracting. While the former vice president touched on these topics in her speech, she spent most of the time echoing the kind of doom and gloom synonymous with her failed presidential campaign.
She managed to say that “America has never fully lived up to these ideals,” the “American dream has, for decades, been slipping out of reach for so many,” a time frame which included her years as vice president and senator, and that the people deserve “leaders who make their lives better and make our country stronger.” Harris was vice president for four years, during which there were record-breaking gas prices and inflation, and immigration policies that allowed criminal illegal immigrants to enter the country and murder innocent women.
Harris is as delusional as she ever was. Consider her speech’s references to the “courage” of Milwaukee Judge Hannah Dugan, whom the Wisconsin Supreme Court recently suspended, and colleges and universities that have been threatened with cuts in funding for failing to comply with federal laws such as Title IX or take necessary measures to control bigotry on campuses.
“The courage of judges to uphold the rule of law in the face of those who will jail them,” Harris said. “Of universities who are defying unconstitutional demands that threaten the pursuit of truth and academic independence.”
Judges who break the law and are held accountable for doing so? Colleges that enabled radical left-wing protesters to destroy campuses and attack students based on their ethnicity and religion? Universities that made female athletes compete with biologically stronger male swimmers and forced female athletes against their will to share the same locker rooms?
Harris then had the audacity to mention the cost of living and daily life expenses, arguably the most tone-deaf thing she might have said. Her comments lacked any self-awareness and revealed she was in complete denial about what life was like in the country when she was vice president.
She bemoaned the Trump administration’s platform, denouncing it as “an agenda that is not lowering costs, not making life more affordable, and not what they promised.”
Of course, this is intellectually disingenuous, given the state of affairs under her administration’s watch. Harris and her boss regularly promised reduced costs and more affordable goods, but they failed to deliver for four years.
Trump hasn’t even been in office for four months. Harris held him to a higher standard than she held herself.
HARRIS WARNS OF CONSTITUTIONAL CRISIS WITH CHECKS AND BALANCES BEGINNING TO ‘BUCKLE’
After losing in 2024 and taking a break from politics, one would think she reflected on what happened and assessed the reality of her failed politics. However, Harris did nothing of the sort and came out as if it were Sept. 30, 2024, instead of April 30, 2025.
Kamala Harris is as she always was. It’s abundantly clear that she learned absolutely nothing from her loss, and one suspects she never will.
