White House displays illegal immigrant mug shots on lawn

The White House put up the mug shots of illegal immigrants who have been arrested on the north side of the mansion’s grounds, near the popular media spot “Pebble Beach.”

The 100 photos were placed on the lawn Sunday night. All of them have a black background with a stamp-style “ARRESTED” line on top with the person’s photo. The term “illegal alien” and that person’s alleged crime are listed below.

Some of the crimes listed include “rape of a child,” “distribution of fentanyl,” and “murder,” and another listed a gang affiliation, “MS-13 member & homicide.”

Monday morning, the White House announced the people on the signs were the “worst of the worst criminal illegal immigrants arrested.” It also listed the names and charges of all those included.

Officials highlighted the signs on Sunday morning, adding, “We will hunt you down. You will face justice. You will be deported — and you will never set foot on American soil again. Oh, and your mug shot may just end up on a yard sign at the White House.”

Border czar Tom Homan will join White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt for a press briefing on Monday morning. He is expected to give an update on the administration’s immigration efforts in President Donald Trump’s first 100 days.

“You can expect the White House to tout the many promises made on the campaign trail that have been fulfilled in the president’s first 100 days,” a White House official told Axios.

Monday, the 99th day of his presidency, saw the administration place the signs to show “some of the worst illegal immigrants and criminals the Trump administration has arrested since taking office.” Immigration is Trump’s strongest issue, recent polling has shown.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM TRUMP’S MASS DEPORTATION PLAN

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem has touted the administration’s immigration success in recent days, with a post on Friday reading, “Under President Trump, we have arrested over 150,000 aliens — including more than 600 members of the vicious Tren de Aragua gang. If you are here illegally and break the law, we will hunt you down, arrest you and lock you up.”

The administration is expected to launch other eye-catching moves in anticipation of Trump’s 100th day in office on Tuesday.
