If Democrats weren’t insincere, they’d have no sincerity at all.
They are claiming we’re in the midst of a “constitutional crisis” because President Donald Trump is pushing to deport illegal immigrants despite court orders reportedly curtailing his actions.
Democrats and allied groups, such as the American Civil Liberties Union, have sought refuge from Trump’s swift-moving administration by running to Democrat-appointed judges for favorable rulings.
In the latest case, Colorado-based U.S. District Judge Charlotte Sweeney, a President Joe Biden appointee, “expressed skepticism” this week that the Trump administration gave insufficient notifications to illegal immigrants destined to be returned to Venezuela. That stems from an order from the U.S. Supreme Court a couple of days prior, which said Trump couldn’t deport Venezuelans being held in northern Texas under the Alien Enemies Act of 1798.
I remember when Democrats claimed abortion laws from the mid-1900s were outdated and had to go. There are even some who claim the Constitution is nothing more than a fossilized parchment written by white men and must be thrown out. But the 1798 Alien Enemies Act? OK!
Trump’s aggressive posture has sparked all sorts of hand-wringing from Democrats about a “constitutional crisis.” You see, if a president ignores or tries to work around a court order, that’s a “constitutional crisis,” they say.
But Democrats were silent when Biden was hell-bent on making hardworking taxpayers pay the student loans of those who didn’t want to take personal responsibility for the cost of obtaining a degree.
In 2023, the Supreme Court ruled that Biden’s plan to put a large portion of student loan payments on the backs of U.S. taxpayers was unconstitutional. He went ahead with a “narrower” plan, and Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) accused him of “ignoring” the court.
There were no shrieks from Democrats about a “constitutional crisis.” They were fine with Biden’s maneuverings around court rulings then, but are acting appalled as Trump insists on deporting foreign criminals from America.
Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) actually traveled to El Salvador to meet with Kilmar Ábrego García, the alleged MS-13 gang member, illegal immigrant, whom Democrats have now deified.
Garcia, whom the media told us was holed up in some deplorable prison, was shown in a brand new Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl Champions hat and colorful plaid shirt. He looked more like a Midwestern tourist on a spring walk through Central Park than an occupant of an awful Salvadoran dungeon.
Just imagine if Van Hollen worked as hard for the children of Baltimore, his constituents, as he does for a deported illegal immigrant.
In 2023, zero students in 13 Baltimore high schools tested proficient in math. Zero! In 2024, 13% of Baltimore fourth graders were proficient in reading.
KILMAR ABREGO GARCIA AND THE DEMOCRATS
This is the hill they’re willing to die on: Van Hollen would rather focus on bringing back a deported illegal immigrant and fight his next deportation than the children of Baltimore. He has said more about Garcia than about the welfare of the children of Baltimore.
People see through the Democrats’ antics. A majority voted for what’s happening because Trump was very clear during the campaign: deport criminal illegal immigrants, cut spending, and return power to the people to live their lives as they see fit. It’s why Van Hollen’s actions and those promoting him will continue to be unsuccessful.
