Ivy League universities continue to be governed by far-left ideologies, and the result has been more discrimination on campus.
Harvard University rejected a list of demands from the Trump administration that it must meet to maintain federal funding. The demands included rejecting merit-based admissions and hiring, increasing ideological diversity on campus, ending all diversity, equity, and inclusion programs and policies, and reforming the laundry list of departments and programs that are fueling antisemitism on campus.
However, Harvard wanted none of it. The university is content to allow roving mobs of antisemites to harass Jewish students on campus, as has been the norm for the last year and a half since these “protests” started. The university wants to continue discriminating in hiring and admissions, fueling racial divisions on campus through DEI, and to be a liberal haven that freezes out conservative voices. Despite this, the university plans to sue to continue forcing taxpayers to fund this discriminatory environment.
Columbia University has nominally agreed to adhere to the Trump administration’s demands under the threat of losing funding. However, the university made clear it has no interest in seriously complying. Columbia’s interim president called the antisemitism on campus “Capitol Hill nonsense” and urged leniency toward pro-terrorist student groups. She was part of the university’s board of trustees when a mob of antisemites took over a university building and effectively held multiple janitors hostage while the university sat on its hands and did nothing.
As if letting antisemites harass Jewish students wasn’t enough, Columbia is now using its bureaucracy to harass Christian students. Daniel Di Martino said he was hauled in by the Office of Institutional Equity for “conduct that could constitute discriminatory harassment,” which amounted to nothing more than his social media posts about how men and women cannot change their genders. Di Martino was allegedly told that expressing his Catholic beliefs could be “creating a hostile environment” for transgender students.
To make matters worse, Columbia created the Office of Institutional Equity in the summer of 2024. It took less than a year for the university to wield it as a weapon on behalf of transgender ideology and against Christian students.
These Ivy League universities want to continue to rake in billions of dollars in taxpayer funds while maintaining the system of discrimination their institutions have created. There is little difference between Harvard’s open defiance and Columbia’s pretend compliance. Ivy League universities are rotten to the core with hateful, destructive ideologies, and nothing will change on their campuses without wholesale personnel changes.
