Glenn Youngkin credits help from Trump administration for major MS-13 arrest

Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R-VA) expressed gratitude for the Trump administration’s help detaining illegal immigrants after former President Joe Biden provided “no collaboration.”

Youngkin reported that over 425 illegal immigrants have been arrested in Virginia and handed over to federal authorities. Among them was 24-year-old Henrry Josue Villatoro Santos, who was allegedly one of the top three operatives in MS-13.

“This has been a great collaboration between state police, our department of corrections, FBI, ICE, and homeland security,” Youngkin said on Fox News’s Fox and Friends Thursday. “They had ICE detainer orders on them that, candidly, the previous administration would never help us pick up. … We got no collaboration from the Biden Administration. Zero.”

Since the arrest of the MS-13 member in Dale City, Attorney General Pam Bondi dropped charges against him. Youngkin explained that this would expedite deportation.

“And as you saw yesterday, the charges from the Department of Justice under General Bondi were dropped so that that that person could be deported immediately and get out of this country and back to El Salvador and go to prison in El Salvador,” Youngkin said.

Villatoro Santos had been in United States custody since March 27. Police arrested him under an outstanding administrative immigration warrant and later charged him with illegal gun possession. Bondi opted to dismiss the charges against him without prejudice, a legal tactic that would allow her to charge him in the future.
