Mahmoud Khalil is a leading agitator in New York who stokes hatred and harassment of Jews, works for the eradication of Israel, glorifies the murderous evil of Hamas terrorism, and presses for the “total elimination of Western civilization.” So he is among the most repellent of men in a country of 335 million people, which is some achievement.
If he were an American, his fellow Americans would simply have to put up with his continued presence in the country. But he isn’t. He is a foreigner. He is here only because he has been generously granted a green card.
This grants a contingent right to permanent residence but not all the rights of a citizen. It does not grant the right to stay while supporting and promoting terrorism. By law, specifically 8 U.S.C. § 1227(a)(4)(B), Khalil’s green card can be revoked if he “endorses or espouses terrorist activity or persuades others to endorse or espouse terrorist activity or support a terrorist organization.” All this, he has done.
President Donald Trump has had him arrested for deportation. He should have legal due process, for green cards should not be revoked capriciously or because an administration simply disapproves of the politics of someone who holds one. But Trump seems to have principle, common sense, and the law on his side against Khalil. The sooner he is expelled from the country, the better.

His case is illuminating in many ways, but let’s note two.
First, ask yourself why a foreigner fully aware that terrorist promotion made him theoretically liable to deportation nevertheless went ahead. It is because, until Trump took office, the federal government had ceased to be credible as an authority willing to preserve, protect, and defend America’s national sovereignty.
Like all members of the international Left, Khalil assumed Washington would disregard and repudiate the moral right of American citizens to choose which aliens would be allowed to live beside them in their own country. Khalil’s cool flouting of his green card’s terms is thus part of a wider civil collapse due to former President Joe Biden’s utter dereliction of duty on immigration.
Second, ask yourself what kind of person objects to Khalil being deported. The question answers itself and is more rather than less notable for that. The people who want Khalil to stay in America, who say ignorantly that he has the right to do so and that his expulsion is an attack on free speech, are those who want “the total elimination of Western civilization.” That is, the end of the political civilization of which America is the apotheosis.
TRUMP’S BRUTALLY BLUNT GAMBLING
They are campus lefties, taught by faculty lefties, expensively semi-educated but fathomlessly either ignorant of or hostile to American history, customs, values, and culture. They sneer at this country, think it is irredeemably evil, and regard its people as dupes. They want revolution. That is what it means when they stand in their cosplay terrorism keffiyehs and shout, “Globalize the intifada.”
If someone behaved in your house the way they do — the way Khalil did while he was a guest in the United States — you’d throw the bum out. Trump has started to throw the bums out. As a green-card holder myself, I welcome it.
