Josh Hawley calls DOJ to ‘follow the money’ on ‘left-funded’ attacks on Tesla

.

Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) called on the Trump administration’s Justice Department to look into the recent attacks on Tesla and “follow the money.”

Protesters have targeted Tesla facilities and vehicles due to Tesla CEO Elon Musk‘s influential role in the government as an ally to President Donald Trump. In response, Hawley said the DOJ needs to investigate these attacks, adding that the “dark money operation of the left” has been behind these types of attacks “for years.”

“They’ve been funding all kind, whether we’re talking about terrorism on campuses, the pro-Hamas terrorists, whether we’re talking about these attacks on Tesla, whether we’re talking about what’s happened with people’s homes, the justices’s homes of the Supreme Court, for instance. All of that is astroturfed, left-funded garbage. We ought to find out where all of it is coming from,” Hawley said on Fox News’s Jesse Watters Primetime.

Hawley also deemed Democratic supporters “a bunch of weirdos,” and suggested that people attacking Tesla facilities were the same people supporting electric vehicles “just a year ago.”

Hawley added that he appreciates how FBI Director Kash Patel and Attorney General Pam Bondi “are all about transparency” and pushed for both of them to investigate “dark money” in the nation.
