Mace’s bathroom bill is a logical next step

.

It was never a secret that pushback against men competing in women’s sports is about more than championship titles. The matter’s salience signifies people’s broad rejection of transgender ideology.

Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) has introduced a bill that would prevent people at Capitol buildings from using single-sex restrooms that do not correspond to their biological sex. The move comes after Rep.-elect Sarah McBride (D-DE), who was born Tim McBride, was elected to Congress. Mace wants to ensure that women do not find themselves in female-only spaces with biological males such as McBride, and the Left is slamming her for doing so.

Most of the country shifted rightward in favor of Trump after Vice President Kamala Harris aligned herself with the far Left. An undercurrent of normalcy is returning. The majority of people are either indifferent to woke ideas or find them bothersome enough to advocate their removal from the mainstream.

Still, activists seem surprised at Mace’s gall. Where did they think things were going?

Opponents have questioned how concerns over fairness in sports have morphed into “transgender bigotry,” and some have even recorded death threats for the congresswoman.

Not everyone is as convicted as Mace is on the restroom matter. As such, the bill does not represent some swooping rejection of transgenderism from the country as a whole. But look deeper into what motivates a visceral reaction to men in women’s and girls’ sports: People agree that it is unsafe because they realize that nothing really changes. A man remains a man.

Mace’s is an entirely reasonable step toward allowing reality back into our culture. It may be pointed, but it is not hateful. Now is a good time for such clarity of thought.
