Vice President Kamala Harris has been vanquished thanks to President-elect Donald Trump‘s stunning comeback victory. Trump made mincemeat of the blue wall while winning seemingly every swing state as he blew past the threshold of 270 electoral votes. When you consider that Republicans also won back control of the Senate and are on the edge of winning control of the House of Representatives, Nov. 5 was a moment of abject humiliation for the Democratic Party.
Unsurprisingly, the immediate response among the Left was a combination of unhinged mourning, as if the election of either Trump or Harris should ever warrant tears of joy or anguish from grown adults, and childish blame games, most of which were focused on the unquestionable racism and sexism that supposedly drove so many people, including women and non-white voters, to cast their vote for the fascist Trump.
In reality, only the Democrats are to blame.
First, Harris was a terrible candidate. When President Joe Biden was sent to a farm upstate where he could run and play with other geriatric presidents, Harris was selected by former President Barack Obama and others as his replacement without ever having won a primary vote. No level of gaslighting from the legacy media, with such shameless enthusiasm the sycophants in “The Emperor’s New Clothes” come across as heavy-hitting critics, could ever hide Harris’s unpopularity from 2019 onward.
In fact, after her favorability ratings collapsed following the disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal, which alone should have killed the election aspirations of both Biden and Harris, her only spike in ratings was seen after her succession to the Democratic Party throne. But, like the Doritos she claims to adore, even this spike was entirely manufactured, amounting to nothing more than one last blip on a flat-lining heart rate monitor hooked up to a corpse.
The idea that enthusiasm for Harris could be created is silly. The idea that it could be created in just a few months after the nation lived through her administration — including rampant inflation, an out-of-control border crisis, and multiple wars across the world — while the candidate Democrats actually voted for was carted away like rotting fruit? Absurd.
Democrats forced Harris down the American people’s throats. You can’t blame people when they spit her back out.
Second, the Democrats couldn’t resist falling back on ol’ faithful: calling everyone they hate a racist, bigoted, misogynistic, transphobic, fascistic Nazi.
Even Biden had the sense to save this sort of rhetoric until after his election victory. Despite Hillary Clinton’s election loss on the back of her infamous portrayal of Republicans as a “basket of deplorables,” Democrats have engaged in a yearslong propaganda campaign that labeled Trump as a fascist who sought to leverage governmental institutions to imprison his enemies — while the Biden-Harris administration leveraged governmental institutions to imprison its enemies.

Ultimately, the Democratic Party made one colossal mistake: it hid in its insulated coastal elitist bubbles, where the only sound is the steady drip of organic coffee while MSNBC’s Joy Reid shrieks in the background, and looked down on the average Americans far beneath them, like peasants who should be grateful to live in its shadow. And, Harris is the face of this elitism that has become endemic among an urban-dwelling echelon of self-prescribed superiors that sneers at anyone who dares question the word of Obama and his collection of puppets.
It’s no surprise that Americans took one hard look at her and collectively responded, “No, thanks.”
