Trump promises big things at the Tucker Carlson Live Tour

Former President Donald Trump was the special guest of the Tucker Carlson Live Tour in Glendale, Arizona, on Thursday night, and he had a lot to say about many different things.

Speaking for nearly two hours on Halloween night, the former president covered various topics, from the Mueller investigation and his 2016 presidential campaign to surprising discussions involving former Bush-Cheney administration member Scooter Libby. Trump also talked about contemporary political issues involving illegal immigration and inflation. The former president also had some harsh remarks for his political opponents such as Kamala Harris and former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY).

One of the first topics Trump discussed during his sit-down interview with the former Fox News host was illegal immigration. Calling it the “single biggest issue,” the former president lamented the problems that the failed border security policies of the Biden-Harris administration have caused for the country.

“I happen to think that the border is the single biggest issue,” Trump said. “I think it’s bigger than inflation. The worst thing that’s happened to this country is allowing millions of people in this country that are criminal people.”

He mentioned the significant number of criminals who entered the country illegally due to failed border security policies and how they have harmed people in the country. In 2016, Trump was known for promising a border wall. However, this time around, Trump said that he would implement a “mass deportation” of illegal immigrants during his second term if elected.

Later in the conversation, Trump reflected on his time in office, mentioning the investigations against him and claiming that they were baseless and the work of his political opponents. He referenced the Russian collusion accusations and the Mueller Report, which Trump claimed exonerated him. He made several references to his previous “enemy from within” comments.

In one of the more interesting parts of the night, Trump brought up his pardon of Scooter Libby, former chief of staff to former Vice President Dick Cheney, who was indicted in the investigation of the leak of the identity of CIA Officer Valerie Plame. It is a topic that the former president has never really spent much time on but did so while speaking Thursday night, mentioning how both Libby and the former vice president called Trump to thank him for the pardon.

Trump then shared stories of why he didn’t like Liz Cheney, including how he felt she was a war hawk in Congress during his presidential term. He made similar criticisms about Trump’s former national security adviser John Bolton.

Trump concluded the interview by stating that the country was facing many serious issues that would only be exacerbated if Vice President Kamala Harris won the presidential election on Tuesday. He emphasized that he was the one who could fix the country’s problems and make it great again.

“We’re going to put our country back together, and we’re going to make it the greatest country in the world again,” Trump said.
