Kari Lake ‘flattered’ by Bill Clinton compliment, questions if she is his type

.

Republican Senate candidate for Arizona Kari Lake said she was “flattered” by former President Bill Clinton’s claim that she is “physically attractive” but questioned whether she is the 42nd president’s type of woman.

“Bill Clinton paid me a compliment. He said I was physically attractive,” Lake laughingly told supporters in Tempe, Arizona. “First of all, you know what? As a middle-aged woman, I’m flattered.”

“I’m flattered, OK. I don’t get those kinds of compliments every day.”

Clinton gave Lake the compliment while contrasting her with her opponent for Arizona’s Senate seat, Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-AZ).

“You got a person that grew up under sometimes challenging circumstances, who made something of his life, running against someone who is physically attractive but believes that politics is a performance art,” the former president said.

Lake appreciated the remark but seemed surprised by it, she told the Tempe crowd.

“Two, I thought I was a little too old for him,” Lake said. “Doesn’t he like interns? Three, I’m happily married to my husband Jeff, who’s right down here, the love of my life. … Nobody in their right mind wants to cross Hillary Clinton. It’s just dangerous.”
