Vice President Kamala Harris is leading former President Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election when it comes to younger voters, according to a recent poll.

Harris’s lead with young people has grown to 20 percentage points over Trump, with 60% saying they would vote for the vice president and 40% for the former president, according to a poll by CNBC-Generation Lab.

In July, only 46% of young respondents said they would vote for Harris, while 34% said they would vote for Trump, a 12-point difference. During that same July poll, 21% of young voters said they would vote for candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who dropped out of the 2024 presidential race on Aug. 23.

The recent poll also highlighted an enthusiasm gap, with only a fifth of respondents saying they were excited about their candidate. More respondents, 38%, said they were disappointed with their candidates, and 41% said they were neutral.
