PolitiFact bias: 201 Trump ‘Pants on Fire,’ zero for Harris

.

Politicians are generally known to tell as many whoppers as anglers.

But that’s not the picture painted by conservative media watchdog Newsbusters in their review of the ‘Truth-O-Meter” fact-checking site from PolitiFact.

In its latest tally, the Media Research Center site said that the well-followed fact-checking platform overwhelmingly fails Republicans more than Democrats.

For example, former President Donald Trump, over time, has collected 201 ratings of “Pants on Fire,” the worst rating.

By comparison, Vice President Kamala Harris has zero. And this year, President Joe Biden, who has supplemented his library of personal fantasies, also has zero.

“Biden drew zero ‘Pants on Fire’ warnings this year, and has only seven of those in the entire history of PolitiFact going back to 2007 (just one during his presidency). Kamala Harris has zero overall, and she was first elected statewide in California in 2010. Trump currently has 201,” said the review from Tim Graham, the executive editor of MRC’s Newsbusters.

In his report on PolitiFact’s ratings for Trump and Harris this year, he found that 79% of Trump’s have been “mostly false or worse” to 36% for Harris.

“That deep-seated belief that Republicans lie incessantly matches the current ‘fact checking’ output of PolitiFact. In a NewsBusters analysis of six months of PolitiFact articles (April to September) that evaluated a named politician or public official with a ‘Truth-O-Meter’ ruling reveals that PolitiFact is profoundly tilted against the GOP,” Graham said.
