Nevada GOP condemns ‘deplorable’ 43-foot nude Trump statue hanging by highway

.

Nevada Republicans aren’t laughing at a giant effigy of former President Donald Trump towering over a high-traffic Las Vegas highway.

Drivers making their way down Nevada’s Interstate 15 have a full view of a 43-foot statue depicting a naked Trump. The effigy, which hangs from a crane, was erected over the weekend.

The Nevada Republican Party called the 6,000-pound nude caricature a “pornographic portrayal” and slammed Democrats for prioritizing “shock value over substance” in a statement released Monday.

There is no evidence the Nevada Democratic Party is in any way involved with the statue. It did not respond to the Washington Examiner’s request for comment, nor did the party comment on the statue as of Monday evening.

“While families drive through Las Vegas, they are forced to view this offensive marionette, designed intentionally for shock value rather than meaningful dialogue,” the statement reads.

Nevada GOP Chairman Michael McDonald, who is a staunch Trump ally, lamented that the state’s Republican governor is unable to remove the statue.

“Unfortunately, his hands are tied on this issue,” Whatley said in a post to X.

The massive statue is part of a “Crooked and Obscene” tour, according to the Wrap. Its nude depiction of Trump “is intentional — serving as a bold statement on transparency, vulnerability, and the public personas of political figures,” per the creators’ comments to the outlet.

The creators said that the statue is supposed to provoke dialogue about “transparency — or lack thereof — in politics, challenging viewers to think critically about political influence.”

The installation has provoked a firestorm on social media, with some conservatives taking to X to deplore what they described as “political violence.”
