Donald Trump shared a video of CNN anchor Anderson Cooper on Friday that was doctored in the former president’s favor.

Trump shared the video on Truth Social that was edited to appear as though Cooper was commentating on the former president’s recent performance during a town hall put on by Cooper’s employer. Fellow anchor Kaitlan Collins moderated the event, which caught the attention of 3.31 million viewers, according to Forbes.

On Thursday, Cooper, the network’s most popular anchor with an average of over 800,000 views a night, defended “giving [Trump] the audience.” Cooper reminded his audience that Trump, accompanied by his seemingly endless spew of disinformation, is the front-runner for the Republican nomination for president and encouraged them to stop “staying in your silo.”

“People are criticizing CNN for giving me a Forum to tell the TRUTH. I believe it was a very smart thing that they did, with Sky High Ratings that they haven’t seen in a very long time,” Trump posted Thursday night. “It was by far the biggest Show of the night, the week, and the month!”

CNN did not respond to the Washington Examiner’s request for comment.
