A Focus on the Family center in Colorado Springs was vandalized Thursday.

The sign on the front of the property was spray painted over in black letters reading: “Their blood is on your hands. Five lives taken,” in an apparent reference to the shooting at Club Q, a popular LGBT nightclub, that killed five people between the ages of 17 and 25 the Saturday before.

Focus on the Family is a Christian nonprofit group that gives a platform to Christians who claim to be reformed from homosexuality. On its website, it publishes a host of articles on the subject of the LGBT community, including topics such as “What Does the Bible Say about Homosexuality?” and “God is Patient, Be Patient with Yourself as You Leave Homosexuality.”

COLORADO SPRINGS NIGHTCLUB SHOOTING SUSPECT TO BE HELD WITHOUT BOND

Focus on the Family President Jim Daly made a comment immediately following the nightclub shooting, referring to it as a “horrific” incident that exposed “the evil and wickedness inside the human heart.”

“We must condemn in the strongest terms possible the taking of innocent life. Our hearts break for those families who have lost loved ones and who are suffering this unimaginable tragedy,” Daly’s statement read. “We pray for them. And now the work turns to law enforcement who are tasked with investigating and determining the motive behind this senseless violence. We pray for peace and for the welfare of our city. May He show mercy and give wisdom to those impacted and involved.”
