A super PAC supporting Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) trolled presidential candidate Nikki Haley‘s offer to Disney to move its Florida operations to South Carolina.

The Never Back Down super PAC posted a video splicing quotes from Disney executives discussing inserting LGBT characters into their content followed by the clip of Haley inviting the company to move to the Palmetto State.

WHY DISNEY IS SUING RON DESANTIS

“We have many, many LGBTQIA characters in our stories,” one executive said.

Other clips feature executives from Disney discussing their “not at all secret gay agenda,” “targeting Gen Z and millennials,” and giving information about “gender affirmation procedures.”

“I was just, wherever I could, just basically adding queerness,” another executive said.

The video then cuts to a clip of Haley on Wednesday saying she would be “happy” to bring Disney to South Carolina.

“If Disney would like to move their hundreds of thousands of jobs to South Carolina and bring the billions of dollars with them, I’ll let them know I’ll be happy to meet them in South Carolina,” Haley said.

The video then ends with a silhouette of Haley holding hands with Mickey Mouse. Below the video, the super PAC posted a poll asking if the better nickname for the former South Carolina governor is “Mickey Haley” or “Nikki Mouse.”

Haley had bashed DeSantis for engaging in a feud with Disney, saying businesses were her partners “because if you take care of your businesses, you take care of your economy, your economy takes care of the people, and everyone wins.”

The comments by Haley came after Disney filed a lawsuit alleging that DeSantis, the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District board, and other state officials pursued a “relentless campaign to weaponize government power against Disney in retaliation for expressing a political viewpoint unpopular with certain state officials.”

Disney alleges in the lawsuit that the state violated Disney’s First Amendment right to speech, the contract and takings clauses in the U.S. Constitution, and the company’s 14th Amendment right to due process.

“We are unaware of any legal right that a company has to operate its own government or maintain special privileges not held by other businesses in the state,” Taryn Fenske, communications director for the governor, said in a statement to the Washington Examiner. “This lawsuit is yet another unfortunate example of their hope to undermine the will of the Florida voters and operate outside the bounds of the law.”

The Never Back Down super PAC is supporting DeSantis in the 2024 presidential election. The Florida governor has not announced a bid for the White House but is reportedly set to do so next month.
