The State Department will hold a briefing following South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol and President Joe Biden‘s joint press conference in which they are expected to announce an agreement to send nuclear-armed U.S. submarines to South Korea for the first time in 40 years.
The agreement aims to deter advances made by North Korea as concern grows over nuclear threats, according to the Associated Press.

Biden and Yoon are holding their joint news conference following their meeting at the White House at noon, celebrating 70 years of the alliance between South Korea and the U.S.
