Twitter users are calling for a boycott of cosmetic brand Maybelline over its partnership with transgender social media influencer Dylan Mulvaney.

A video of Mulvaney “getting glam” with Maybelline makeup was first posted in March but sparked renewed outrage after another social media influencer, Oli London, shared the video and touted Mulvaney as “the new face of Maybelline.”

The video has since been shared across social media with several calling for a boycott.

“Women have fought for years to get to where we are,” one Twitter user wrote, tagging Maybelline in the post. “Women’s rights are being [taken] back by these men, and you support it. Please all of us born women let’s #boycottmaybelline.”

Another user tweeted: “I threw all Maybelline out. Used since I was a teenager. Not anymore.”

Others suggested Mulvaney’s partnership with the cosmetic brand is “the degradation of women.”

“Ok ladies, now Maybelline is partnering with the degradation of women. #BoycottMaybelline,” a tweet read.

Yet another tweeted a hard “NO” in a call to boycott the makeup company.

“Boycott [Maybelline] products please,” the tweet said. “Like other woke entities, they no longer are focused on women. Colour me Trans. It’s a NO from me.”

Mulvaney, who is a biological male identifying as a female, first began garnering attention in 2022 after sharing details about his transitioning journey on social media, calling it a “Days of Girlhood” series.

The calls to boycott Maybelline follow a similar initiative against Nike and Bud Light and their partnerships with Mulvaney.

Conservative celebrities have spoken out against the promotions. Travis Tritt announced he was dropping all Anheuser-Busch products from his tour, Kid Rock shot a few cases of Bud Light, and John Rich asked fans about which beer should replace Bud Light.

Former Olympic swimmer Sharron Davies also slammed Nike’s partnership with Mulvaney as “a parody of what women are,” along with Caitlyn Jenner calling it “a shame to see such an iconic American company go so woke!”

While speaking on the Onward With Rosie O’Donnell podcast recently, Mulvaney offered a reason for the mounting attention and criticism.

“The reason I think I’m an easy target is because I’m still new to this,” Mulvaney said. “I think going after a trans woman who has been doing this for 20 years is a lot more difficult. Maybe they think there’s some sort of chance with me that they can — but I mean, what is their goal?”
