Political commentator and Fox & Friends co-host Brian Kilmeade will host the 8 p.m. hour on Fox News on Monday night. The network announced Monday that Tucker Carlson would be leaving after seven years of hosting the slot.

A Fox News spokesperson confirmed to the Washington Examiner that Kilmeade will be hosting Monday’s show. Kilmeade, 59, serves as a co-host on Fox & Friends with Steve Doocy and Ainsley Earhardt, which airs from 6-9 a.m. He also hosts the Saturday show One Nation with Brian Kilmeade from 8-9 p.m.

TUCKER CARLSON LEAVES FOX NEWS: WHO COULD REPLACE HOST IN PRIME-TIME SLOT?

The network said it would rely on a rotating group of hosts to occupy the slot before a replacement is found. Other possible hosts include Jesse Watters, Maria Bartiromo, Sean Hannity, Greg Gutfeld, and Laura Ingraham.

Kilmeade is known for his outspoken commentary on conservative topics. He is not afraid to go after both left- and right-wing politicians. He most recently bashed former President Donald Trump for airing a Jan. 6 insurrection video at his rally in Waco, Texas.

Carlson’s departure from the network was announced on Monday morning. The last episode of Tucker Carlson Tonight, which began in 2016, aired on Friday. Carlson will not produce any more content for Fox News. His departure came on the same day CNN announced they had fired host Don Lemon.
