Hakeem Jeffries dismisses the fairness and safety concerns of female athletes

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) said that male athletes competing in women’s sports is an issue that “doesn’t really exist.” Perhaps he should tell that to Payton McNabb.

McNabb was a high school volleyball player in North Carolina whose team had to play against a male athlete. That male athlete, with his natural athletic and strength advantages, spiked the ball and struck McNabb in the face. McNabb suffered a concussion and a neck injury and was forced to miss the rest of her senior season. She also said that she is still dealing with impaired vision and partial paralysis on the right side of her body.

TITLE IX RULE CHANGE: BIDEN IS DETERMINED TO FORCE GENDER IDEOLOGY ONTO A PUBLIC THAT DOESN’T WANT IT

Yes, letting boys and men compete against girls and women is dangerous even in noncontact sports such as volleyball. Female high school volleyball players max out at spikes of 50 miles per hour. Spikes by male high school volleyball players average between 40-50 miles per hour, meaning the hardest-hitting girls would only have average power playing against boys.

Even when physical injuries are not in play, the question of fairness is undeniable. A boy with average power playing volleyball would instantly become one of the hardest-hitting players in girls high school volleyball. A boy with above-average power would hit harder than any girl ever possibly could, not because of training or work ethic, but only because of the wide biological gap between male and female athletes.

This is true in every high school sport, and nearly every sport above the high school level as well. While Jeffries insists that this issue “doesn’t really exist,” we have already seen two boys erase dozens of girls high school track records in Connecticut. Transgender “women” are now invading the highest levels of women’s cycling and weightlifting, taking away championships and Olympic opportunities from actual women because they are men.

And this issue is only going to become more pervasive, not less. The social contagion of transgender ideology is pushing more and more children into gender confusion and thinking that they are transgender. Jeffries and the Democratic Party are telling parents that the moment their child becomes confused about their gender, they must be socially and medically transitioned. They are pushing more children into being transgender and thus will push more boys and men into girls and women’s sports.

That will lead to more girls losing roster spots, scholarship opportunities, records, and championships. It will also lead to more injuries such as the ones McNabb suffered. If that amount of damage can be done in volleyball, a noncontact sport, what will happen when male athletes are allowed into girls basketball, soccer, softball, water polo, or hockey? Female athletes will be erased from their own sports through both injuries and biological athletic gaps. It will only add injury to insult.
