Nikki Haley, former ambassador to the United Nations and current 2024 presidential hopeful, responded to Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas’s claim that the border is “secure” with a video exposing a feeble chain-link fence put up by the current administration.

Mayorkas endured a second day of grueling public hearings on Capitol Hill and made it clear that he believes the border is protecting the public.

“It is my testimony that the border is secure, and we are working every day, day and night, to increase its security,” he told Republican lawmakers.

Footage of his testimony went viral, and Haley responded with a video of her at the border, showing what President Joe Biden’s administration has put in place to protect citizens.

Haley showed the measures put in place by previous administrations, including former President Donald Trump’s wall, before exposing a basic chain-link fence.

“This is now what Biden has put up,” she said. “That’s not gonna stop anybody. All they’ve got to do is cut it up and come over. That’s the problem you’ve got on the border.”

“It’s not a real border. It’s not a border at all. We need to finish what we started,” Haley continued, pointing to the Trump-era wall. “A chain-link fence. That’s not gonna stop anybody, and that’s why we see so many illegal immigrants coming across.”
