While appearing on Fox & Friends, Timpf shared that in her book, she advocates comedy, especially concerning sensitive topics, as a helpful means of coping with life’s struggles.

“For me, every tough thing I’ve been through, I’ve only felt worse and more isolated when anybody who knew I was going through that struggled to say the right thing around me. Then I feel isolated on top of everything else I am already going through,” Timpf said.

“So, I would really argue that this cultural policing of speech and of humor really is hurting people’s ability to heal, but also to make connections with each other,” she added. “Because every tough thing you go through you’re ultimately building a connection with everyone else who’s been through it.”

Timpf also said she details in her book how her Fox News career began amid some difficult times in her life.

“Things that are really tough are really scary, but the way to make something even more powerful and scary is to treat it as if it is untouchable,” Timpf explained. “If you joke about something, it takes away some of its power.”

Timpf began working for Fox News in 2015.
