The California Senate race was always going to bring out the worst, most toxic liberal Democrats in the state as they struggled to grab power. Now, national Democrats are throwing themselves into the mix as well.

The fight over the seat of Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) has gone national as Democrats now push for her to resign her seat. Reps. Ro Khanna (D-CA) and Dean Phillips (D-MN) were the first out of the gate, and liberals pundits have jumped in as well. Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) also moved the ball forward on this, giving Feinstein a month before this would “become an issue for the country.”

REPLACING FEINSTEIN TEMPORARILY ON SENATE JUDICIARY COMMITTEE MAY BE UPHILL CLIMB FOR DEMOCRATS

Why? Because Feinstein sits on the Senate Judiciary Committee. According to committee Chairman Dick Durbin (the Illinois Democrat who became chairman after Feinstein was forced out of the committee’s top Democratic spot), “I can’t consider nominees in these circumstances because a tie vote is a losing vote in committee.” Feinstein’s absence is preventing Democrats from pushing through their liberal judges, and so she must go.

While the Democrats try to couch this as a problem because Feinstein can’t perform her Senate duties during her absence, the same reasoning has not been applied to Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA). Fetterman can’t understand spoken words, hospitalized himself shortly after taking office, and has missed 86% of roll-call votes as a senator. But because he is not holding up the Democratic Party’s judicial nominations, his evident inability to carry out his Senate duties is considered no big deal.

Meanwhile, the options to replace Feinstein are only getting worse. Rep. Katie Porter (D-CA), the abortion fanatic who thinks she is politically black, is now mired in allegations of abuse toward her ex-husband, stemming from their 2013 divorce filings. Aside from Porter, the other contenders for the seat are communist sympathizer Rep. Barbara Lee (D-CA) and Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), who used his position of influence in Congress to censor ordinary citizens whose opinions he didn’t like.

The Democratic Party’s power-hungry disposition is only going to make this race worse as it goes on. More Democrats will attempt to force Feinstein out despite the way they coddled Fetterman.

Porter, Schiff, and Lee belong nowhere near any sort of power. Their race will indeed be a race to the bottom as they chase a Senate seat any of them could hold for decades. The entire campaign will bring out the worst in them as well as the Democratic Party, and in the end, the country will have been better off with Feinstein’s absentee tenure.
