Former President Donald Trump made his return to New York Thursday for questioning in a $250 million civil fraud lawsuit against him by the state’s attorney general Letitia James, alleging she “leaked” the time he would arrive.

“I will be heading downtown to meet with a Racist who leaked that I would be there at 9:30 A.M. The leak makes it much more difficult for the Police and Secret Service to do their job,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “This civil case is ridiculous, just like all of the other Election Interference cases being brought against me. If I had a fair judge, this case would have never happened. MAGA!”

TRUMP ARRIVES IN NEW YORK FOR STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL’S DEPOSITION

Trump’s attorney Alina Habba told the Washington Examiner the former president is “not only willing but also eager to testify before the Attorney General today.”

“He remains resolute in his stance that he has nothing to conceal, and he looks forward to educating the Attorney General about the immense success of his multi-billion dollar company,” Habba added.

Unlike his surrender on separate criminal charges last week, Trump’s return to the Empire State is not likely to draw high levels of attention due to the deposition in James’s case taking place behind closed doors.

Trump, who is seeking the Republican nomination for a bid to return to the Oval Office after the 2024 election, is expected to go to the attorney general’s office in lower Manhattan, where he will be questioned regarding his business practices with the Trump Organization. James’s lawsuit alleges Trump and others of a decadelong scheme to manipulate property values and his net worth to obtain favorable loans and tax benefits.

A trial in the case is slated to begin on Oct. 2. The purpose of Thursday’s deposition is to make available testimony during the trial if he is unable to appear, or could be used to add context to any testimony Trump may give at the trial.

Trump previously faced questioning by James’s office in August. Before James’s case was filed, he invoked his right against self-incrimination more than 400 times.

The former president garnered worldwide attention when he was indicted earlier this month by a Manhattan grand jury on 34 counts of falsifying business records related to alleged hush money payments made to porn star Stormy Daniels, Playboy model Karen McDougal, and a former Trump Tower doorman. The former president pleaded not guilty to all the charges, which were filed by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg (D).

Trump also faces a federal investigation related to his handling of government documents after leaving the White House and alleged attempts to subvert the 2020 election results, along with a state investigation in Georgia as to whether he unlawfully sought to overturn the 2020 election results in the Peach State.

A trial is also set for April 25 in New York federal court surrounding whether Trump defamed former Elle magazine columnist E. Jean Carroll by denying her rape. Trump is attempting to delay that trial, according to a filing from his attorneys Wednesday.
