Zelensky greets Brad Paisley and three centrist senators in Ukraine

A small bipartisan delegation of senators greeted Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky Wednesday, his office announced.
Zelenksy welcomed Sens. Joe Manchin (D-WV), Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), and Mark Kelly (D-AZ) into Ukraine and expressed gratitude for the broad United States support for the Russia-attacked nation.

“Bicameral and bipartisan support from the United States, President Biden personally, and all Americans helped us survive the war unleashed by Russia,” Zelensky noted, per his office.
During the meeting, Zelenksy provided a status update on the bloody invasion and apprised members of how foreign assistance has been put to use. He also emphasized that Ukraine has been keen on using American taxpayers’ funds wisely.
“We are fighting for common values — freedom and democracy. Our victory will be decisive for the development of the situation in Europe and throughout the world,” Zelensky added.
Country music star Brad Paisley accompanied the trio on the visit. He reportedly teased a song written for Ukraine titled, “Same Here.”

A melange of U.S. lawmakers from both sides of the aisle has traversed to Ukraine throughout the course of the battle. President Joe Biden marked the one-year anniversary of the Russian assault back in February. He was followed by a delegation led by House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul (R-TX).
Most recently, House Intelligence Chairman Mike Turner (R-OH) popped by last week. Zelensky addressed a joint session of Congress last December.

Earlier this month, the Pentagon unveiled a roughly $2.6 billion assistance package featuring a wide assortment of military hardware ranging from radar to anti-tank rockets. Total aid approved for Ukraine by Congress has topped $113 billion, according to a Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget assessment from January.
Support for Ukraine has been rocked by the recent trove of sensitive intelligence documents leaked that outlined various contingencies and assessments of the situation on the battlefield, among other information.
