The ‘Tennessee Three’ care only about making themselves celebrities

Democrats have moved on from exploiting dead children to push gun control to exploiting dead children and their own anti-democratic actions to make themselves celebrities.
The three Tennessee state representatives who took the floor of the state Capitol to shut down regular business on behalf of a gun control mob are now doing media tours. They were even given their own little media nickname: the “Tennessee Three.” The six victims of the Covenant School shooting have been forgotten, while the Tennessee Three bask in their new celebrity status, which they earned on the backs of those victims.

Also lost in this media circus is what exactly the three did to earn their expulsions. In solidarity with the mob, they took to the floor of the state house with bullhorns to shout down their colleagues and shut down legislative proceedings for 45 minutes. Democratic state Reps. Justin Jones and Justin Pearson were expelled not for “protesting” but for taking the legislative process hostage and effectively giving a mob control of the legislature.
State Rep. Gloria Johnson also should have been expelled, but enough Republican squishes decided she wasn’t as out of line as the other two. She repaid their mercy by smearing them as racists and saying that she would not apologize for acting in accordance with the mob.
Now, the three “legislators” have found their calling as media darlings and civil rights LARPers. They want to be seen as martyrs for leading a light insurrection and doing so on top of the corpses of the real victims. They want to pretend that they are just like Martin Luther King Jr. and the civil rights leaders of the past, but they are not doing this for any sort of cause. This is all a vanity exercise, with the three of them racing to throw themselves in front of as many cameras as possible.
Establishment media are all too happy to oblige. They, too, have been LARPing as civil rights heroes, turning every discussion into one of race. They also haven’t had shameless gun control activists lecturing the country while standing on corpses since the Parkland school shooting in Florida. The Tennessee Three now give them the opportunity to smear Republicans as being both racist and not caring about dead children. It’s the best of both worlds.
Lost in all this is any amount of decency, both for the actual victims of the shooting and for the democratic process itself. Instead, three egotistical Democrats are now being propped up in spite of their rule-breaking and despite the fact that they do not know how to stop, or care about stopping, gun violence. They thought they were getting their 15 minutes of fame, and establishment media and the Democratic Party instead want to turn them into full-fledged celebrities.
