A woman in Indiana admitted Tuesday to neglecting her young brother, who endured months of isolation, torture, and eventually died after his skull was severed from his body.

April Wright, 28, pleaded guilty to neglect of a dependent resulting in death and confessed that she and her wife, Rachel Wright, 28, were responsible for the 2020 death of Leviticus Kuchta, 10.

They dislocated at least two of Kuchta’s cervical vertebrae and his jaw, which resulted in his death, according to a report.

Officials found the corpse of the child in his bed after Rachel called 911, the report noted.

The women attempted to claim that Kuchta had injured himself while riding a dirt bike, but neighbors informed authorities that the child had not been seen outside of the house in months.

The dirt bike was also found covered in dust and spider webs, the report noted.

“He was the punching bag for his sister and her wife,” Lake County Supervisory Deputy Prosecutor Michelle Jatkiewicz said, according to court documents.

“They had complete access to Leviticus, who had not access to help. The only way he would leave that house was in a body bag. And that is what ultimately happened.”

The child was likely in constant pain and immobilized, one doctor testified.

April faces 20 to 35 years in prison if her plea deal is accepted in January.

Rachel pleaded guilty to one felony count of neglect and agreed to testify against her wife in October.
