Tim Allen gives update on Jay Leno after hospital visit: ‘Handsome and he’s happy’

Actor Tim Allen had a hope-filled update on comedian Jay Leno’s condition after visiting him in the hospital Thursday.
Allen called Leno “a superhero” after seeing him at the Grossman Burn Center in Los Angeles.
“Went to see my pal Leno in the hospital after his burn accident,” Allen tweeted. “Took some treats and car magazines. He has severe burns and acts like he just stubbed his toe. The due is a superhero. Great care will have him better real soon.”

Leno, 72, sustained burn injuries following a car fire that began while he was working underneath one of his vehicles on Saturday.
“He’s feeling better,” Allen also told TMZ. “We did some jokes, which is what we do. We commiserated.”
Allen said Leno’s injuries will not leave his face disfigured, joking that he’ll look like actor George Clooney upon recovery.
“You’re going to be surprised. He’s handsome and he’s happy,” Allen said. “The hospital is doing a great job taking care of him.”

On Wednesday, Dr. Peter Grossman said Leno’s road to recovery will be longer than the comedian anticipated but that he was expected to make a full recovery.
