There are only nine days left for El Monte, California, residents to apply for a guaranteed income program that will give them $500 every month for a year.

A total of 125 applicants will be selected for this program, which is intended for mothers in the city. Applications for the program opened on March 27 and will remain open until April 15, according to the city.

HERE’S HOW MUCH MONEY IT TAKES TO BE ‘HAPPY’ IN CALIFORNIA

“Individuals selected to participate in the program will be issued a debit card,” a city manager’s office representative told the Washington Examiner. “Every month, the city will load $500 on the debit card. Individuals can use it to pay for goods and services at any location that accepts debit cards. The city will provide training on how to use the debit card for participants.”

Those interested in applying for this program can do so either in person at the city manager’s office, online, or by mail.

Additionally, applicants must have a verified income at or below the federal poverty line, be able to show a need for financial assistance due to the coronavirus pandemic, and be able to submit documents verifying school enrollment, proof of residency, proof of income, and a government-issued ID.
