Jill Biden’s plane to Michigan diverted to Denver after ‘aircraft issue’

First lady Jill Biden‘s plane was diverted back to Denver, Colorado, due an “aircraft issue” during her flight to Michigan.

“Due to an aircraft issue en route Michigan, the First Lady was diverted back to Denver, Colorado. Her trip to Michigan will be postponed to a later date,” tweeted Vanessa Valdivia, press secretary for the first lady.

Valdivia confirmed in a follow-up tweet that “everyone is safe” and the plane is safely on the ground in Denver.

Biden was in Denver as part of the administration’s “Investing in America Tour” which saw her discussing workforce training programs with Gov. Jared Polis (D-CO). She was slated to visit Michigan as part of the tour Monday, but the trip will now be postponed to a later date.

The first lady will also speak in Maine and Vermont as part of the administration’s tour. Members of the president’s cabinet are also taking part in the “tour,” along with the president himself.

President Joe Biden is slated to speak at Cummins Power Generation Facility Monday in Minnesota as part of the tour.
