President Joe Biden once again took on “extreme MAGA House Republicans,” warning they would rip food assistance from families and enable 900 pounds of fentanyl to pour in from the Southern border.

“Extreme MAGA House Republicans’ proposals would rip food assistance away from families. It would put 1.2 million women, infants, and children in jeopardy. My budget would put food on the table — in school cafeterias and American homes,” Biden tweeted Sunday.

WHITE HOUSE LAUNCHES MEDIA BLITZ AGAINST FREEDOM CAUCUS ‘FIVE-ALARM’ BUDGET PROPOSAL

His comments appear to be directed at the House Freedom Caucus‘s budget proposal released earlier this month that counters his own $6.9 trillion budget that’s likely to be dead on arrival in the lower chamber. Republican leadership has not yet released an alternative to Biden’s plan.

Biden has been unleashing upon the conservative flank in the House, embarking on a campaign against their plan, which calls for capping federal spending at 2022 levels over the next ten years, effectively enacting across-the-board cuts to a litany of federal agencies, given inflation.

In one of his ostensible digs at the proposal, Biden sounded the alarm that “nearly 900 pounds of fentanyl” could flood the United States if “MAGA House Republicans” got their way.

“MAGA House Republican proposals would slash funding for border security – a move that could allow nearly 900 pounds of fentanyl into our country. We need more resources to secure the border. Not less,” he tweeted.

Republicans have long lambasted Biden over the burgeoning crisis at the border. Last year, border encounters blew past 2 million, marking a new record. A chorus of conservatives fired back at Biden’s swipe, highlighting his record at the border.

“Biden and Democrats blocked Republican efforts to hire 18,000 Border Patrol agents. They hired 87,000 IRS agents instead,” Tommy Pigott, the Republican National Committee’s rapid response director shot back.

Last week, the White House underscored concerns that arose from projections of the House Freedom Caucus plan. Its “five-alarm” rebuttal cited argued ramifications from the plan include “endangering public safety, raising costs for families, shipping manufacturing jobs overseas and undermining American workers, weakening national security, and hurting seniors.”

Democrats are currently locked in a bitter dispute over how to raise the $31.4 trillion debt ceiling. The Treasury Department has undergone “extraordinary measures” to prolong government funding, but those steps are slated to run dry sometime by June. If Congress does not reach a resolution on the nation’s borrowing authority, the government will be forced to stop funding critical programs.
