A handful of Republican politicians are throwing their weight behind former President Donald Trump’s recently announced 2024 presidential campaign.

Trump formally debuted his third bid for the White House Tuesday evening, vowing to “make America great and glorious again.” Amid growing murmurs of trepidation over Trump trickling through conservative circles, most Republican heavyweights have so far abstained from officially backing him, opting to hold out and assess his likely primary rivals.

His announcement followed a lackluster midterm outing for the GOP in which the party dramatically underperformed expectations. Some Republican detractors have pinned the blame on Trump’s political baggage for dragging down candidates in tight races.

Here is a list of prominent GOP figures that have backed Trump’s comeback bid.

Elise Stefanik

Preempting Trump’s formal launch, Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY), who heads the House GOP conference, gave a full-throated endorsement of the former president. She later insisted that Trump was the clear leader of the Republican Party.

“I am proud to endorse Donald Trump for president in 2024,” Stefanik told the New York Times. “It is time for Republicans to unite around the most popular Republican in America who has a proven track record of conservative governance.”

Kari Lake

One of Trump’s most ardent supporters in the gubernatorial elections, former Arizona gubernatorial hopeful Kari Lake, backed him after he made his 2024 campaign official.

“President Trump announces his ‘24 Presidential run. He has my complete and total endorsement,” she tweeted.

Marjorie Taylor Greene

Like Stefanik, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) gave her endorsement of Trump before he declared his intent to run. Greene has been one of Trump’s most enthusiastic supporters within the halls of Congress.

“President Trump has my full endorsement and my support as our Republican nominee in 2024,” she told reporters.

Ronny Jackson

Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-TX), who served as Trump’s physician during his White House days, unleashed a torrent of tweets lavishing praise on Trump as he made his 2024 bid official.

“President Trump is the GREATEST President I’ve ever seen. I’m on his side 100%! PRESIDENT TRUMP HAS MY COMPLETE AND TOTAL ENDORSEMENT,” he tweeted.

Troy Nehls

Rep. Troy Nehls (R-TX), a member of the conservative House Freedom Caucus, was also quick to back Trump’s 2024 campaign, dubbing him the leader of the GOP.

“My friend Donald J. Trump has my complete and total endorsement for president in 2024. He is the leader of the Republican Party, and we will make America great again,” he tweeted.

In addition to the full-throated endorsements, Trump has also garnered praise from several Republicans who appear to have stopped short of officially backing him. For example, Trump ally Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) commended his policy goals and expressed his desire for the United States to enact Trump’s vision.

“As we listen to President Trump remind us of what is possible regarding our borders, economy, and national security, it is my hope that he will continue to focus on the solutions that he offered tonight to restore a broken America,” Graham tweeted.

Trump has yet to face a major primary opponent, though he has ratcheted up the offensive against speculated challengers such as Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. Should Trump succeed in his 2024 mission, he would be the second president to serve two non-consecutive terms.
