President Joe Biden heartily attacked Republicans Thursday for their repeated attempts to roll back the Affordable Care Act.

The president has ramped up his rhetoric in recent weeks against Republican attempts to cut funding for Medicare, Social Security, and other entitlement programs as a means of reducing the federal deficit, and he repeated that same messaging during a speech commemorating the 13th anniversary of the passage of the Affordable Care Act.

WHITE HOUSE LAUNCHES MEDIA BLITZ AGAINST HOUSE FREEDOM CAUCUS BUDGET PROPOSAL

“I want to be clear, there are some good, decent Republicans out there. I’m not suggesting this is all about bad Republicans,” Biden stated. “But this new crowd ain’t your father’s Republican Party.”

He continued to knock Republican leadership for making “repealing” Obamacare part of “every single Republican budget since the law was passed.”

“Even now, MAGA Republicans in Congress are intent on repealing the Affordable Care Act when it’s clear it would have a devastating effect on the American people,” Biden stated. “We will never let that happen.”

The president released his budget proposal for fiscal 2024 in March, and he further criticized the GOP for failing to produce a counterproposal.

“They want to negotiate,” he challenged Republicans. “Lay down yours. Let’s negotiate.”

White House officials have referred to GOP healthcare proposals, specifically the funding levels outlined in the House Freedom Caucus’ 2024 budget, as a “five-alarm fire.”

The Biden administration claims that the proposal only serves to “give Big Pharma a bigger taxpayer handout” and will disproportionately impact seniors on Social Security and Medicare.
