Hair dye, face masks, and needles flooded the floor of the Florida Senate Committee on Health Policy Monday when outraged leftist protesters voiced their grievances at a public hearing in Tallahassee.

The group spoke in firm opposition to a measure that would prohibit minors from undergoing treatments and procedures for the purpose of sexual reassignment.

Titled CS/SB 254: Treatments for Sex Reassignment, many of the protesters decried the legislation as an act of “trans-genocide” that would see “many people die.”

“You have put targets on the backs of Florida’s queer community, and state legislators are putting guns into the hands of people who want us dead,” one speaker said. “From every angle and opportunity, you are committing genocide.”

“You or trying to kill my people, and it will not go lightly,” another said. “The way it is as it is now, my people will die, and that blood, if you support this bill, will be on your hands.”

Opponents of the legislation came in all shapes, ages, and sizes.

“I’m 12 years old,” one of the younger speakers said. “I’m non-binary. Many of us will die. I deserve to live as long as all of you. We are humans too.”

Several speakers made displays to show how seriously they take the matter.

One blue-haired 22-year-old transgender individual injected themselves with a substance.

“This is my healthcare,” the speaker said. “Don’t tread on it.”

Others alluded to personal and world history to show the dangers of not letting young children select the gender of their preference.

“When I was two, I wanted to kill myself,” one said. “By the time I was 15, I attempted to slice my own breasts off.”

“I grew up in Germany in the aftermath of the Nazis,” another speaker addressed the committee. “What you people are doing is no different. This is transphobic. It is cruel, and you really should be ashamed.”
