Teen known as ‘El Chapito’ arrested for murder of eight people at birthday party

A 14-year-old nicknamed “El Chapito” was taken into custody after the drug-related murders of at least eight people at a birthday party, authorities said Thursday.
The killings occurred in the Mexico City suburb of Chimalhuacan when the teenager drove up to the birthday party on a motorcycle and began shooting, according to local police.

At least one other man was arrested along with the teenager in connection to the killings, according to a report.
The alleged murderer’s identity has not been confirmed, but his nickname, “Little Chapo,” alludes to the notorious drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman.

A motive for the birthday slaughter has not been confirmed, but many believe the killings are drug-related.
