One Tree Hill actress slams Candace Cameron Bure as a ‘bigot’ over Christian faith

Former One Tree Hill star Hilarie Burton Morgan slammed Candace Cameron Bure Monday for her belief in traditional values.
“Bigot. I don’t remember Jesus liking hypocrites like Candy. But sure. Make your money, honey. You ride that prejudice wave all the way to the bank,” Burton wrote on Twitter, responding to a new interview with Bure.

In the interview with the Wall Street Journal, Bure discusses her move to the TV network Great American Family from Hallmark. Asked if the network would feature same-sex couples prominently, similar to Hallmark’s upcoming movie, The Holiday Sitter, she explained that they will instead “keep traditional marriage at the core.”
This struck a chord with the fellow actress.
“Now they’re just openly admitting their bigotry. I called this shit out years ago when Abbott was at Hallmark. Glad they dumped him. Being LGBTQ isn’t a ‘trend’. That guy and his network are disgusting. You too Candy. There is nothing untraditional about same-sex couples,” Morgan tweeted.

The queen of Christmas opted not to respond to the tweets aimed at her by Morgan.

In the interview, Bure didn’t speak out on her departure from Hallmark, other than to say that “It basically is a completely different network than when I started because of the change of leadership.”
Hallmark doesn’t appear to be phased by her leaving and doesn’t plan to change its content. “We want all viewers to see themselves in our programming and everyone is welcome,” it said in a statement to the Wall Street Journal.
