Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) promised that a new “groundbreaking” report on the origins of COVID-19 is coming soon in a press release on Tuesday.

According to Rubio’s office, “The forthcoming report presents a mountain of circumstantial evidence that the COVID-19 pandemic likely came from a lab accident in Wuhan, China.”

Along with the release, Rubio published a video teasing the new findings.

“We’ve been told that this catastrophe was an act of nature, but Chinese documents tell another story,” a voice tells viewers.

“We have enough pieces put together to really change the entire narrative,” the senator says on camera. “There is no limits to what they are willing to do to make sure that the full story is never known.”

“My office is finalizing a report based on almost 18 months of investigations on the true origins of the COVID-19 pandemic. This report uncovered and will reveal evidence that was either previously unknown or otherwise ignored by the U.S. government,” Rubio said in the release. “It is a groundbreaking look at what was happening in China during the years and months leading up to the known outbreak of the pandemic.”

The senator’s office did not reveal a date for the new report, only indicating it would be out “soon.”

Last month, it was reported that a new Department of Energy investigation concluded with “low confidence” that a lab leak is the most likely origin of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Afterward, FBI Director Christopher Wray agreed with the assessment, claiming, “The FBI has for quite some time now assessed that the origins of the pandemic are most likely a potential lab incident in Wuhan.”

The theory had, at one point, been widely dismissed by public figures, politicians, and media as a conspiracy theory.
