The reported White House visit coincides with the release of the sports comedy-drama television series’s third and final season on Wednesday.

Ted Lasso also has fans at the other end of Pennsylvania Avenue. Sens. Mitt Romney (R-UT) and Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ) dressed up for Halloween in 2021, respectively, as Sudeikis’s titular character and Hannah Waddingham’s Rebecca Welton, the new owner of AFC Richmond, who hires American college football coach Lasso to try and undermine her ex-husband’s British soccer club.

Korean pop sensation BTS spent time with Biden last summer to help raise awareness about the White House’s anti-Asian-hate campaign. Actor Matthew McConaughey, too, delivered a tribute to the victims of the Uvalde school shooting during a White House press briefing last year. Uvalde is McConaughey’s hometown.

“Enough with the counterpunching,” he said at the time. “Enough of the invalidation of the other side. Let’s come to the common table that represents the American people. Find a middle ground, the place where most of us Americans live anyway, especially on this issue.”
