During a postgame press conference on Tuesday, Golden State Warriors player Draymond Green made controversial statements about the role of black history in the country. While talking to reporters, he advanced the false premise that governors want to remove black history from education. It’s the latest left-wing outburst from one of the league’s players that frequently promotes factually incorrect information and viewpoints to promote racial division.

DEMOCRAT BLAMES FOX NEWS FOR BALTIMORE’S FAILING SCHOOLS

“You’ve got governors wanting to take our history out of schools,” Green said while discussing Black History Month with reporters. “At some point, it’s time to get rid of Black History Month. Not get rid of black history, like they’re trying to do.”

Green is referring to the oft-repeated yet debunked claim that Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) was trying to remove an Advanced Placement African American Studies course in the state’s schools. This was not true in any way, however. DeSantis objected to much of the course’s left-wing radical indoctrination, including critical race theory, not black history. The College Board admitted “mistakes” in its rollout of the AP course and updated it with a revised curriculum.

Green never mentioned this part, however. Objectively, it’s difficult to determine if Green was brainwashed into believing his incorrect statements. The same could be said about many of the incendiary comments made by players in the NBA. It seems like the entire league has become nothing but radical Democratic Party propaganda talking pieces meant to indoctrinate its viewers.

Furthermore, Green’s comments come after repeated inaccurate, inflammatory rhetoric on race from players such as Lebron James and Kyrie Irving, among others. Time and time again, the league’s players promote a perpetually aggrieved narrative of black people in the country. They use their fame, fortune, and large platform to push political agendas, not truth.

NBA players seem intent on making the country believe black people are currently oppressed and discriminated against and suffering in the country because of their skin color. In 2023, this is not even remotely true. Speaking out against racism is a noble act and should happen. Yet it is wrong for players to use their success to brainwash and manipulate people into believing things that aren’t true. There should be significant pushback when this happens.

A few years ago, Laura Ingraham told James to “shut up and dribble.” She should have told him to learn true history and get better acclimated with facts instead. Like it or not, NBA players’ words and actions have an impact on what many people believe — especially young people. When they promote factually incorrect information and aren’t corrected or held accountable, it negatively affects the culture. The players should educate themselves on actual facts of what is happening, not just regurgitate the biased, agenda-driven opinions of the Left.
