Tudor Dixon is considering a run for chairwoman of the Michigan GOP after blaming the party for her defeat in the gubernatorial race.

The preview of what could be next for Dixon came after she lost to incumbent Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and then lashed out at the Michigan Republican Party.

The defeated Michigan candidate said in a statement on Saturday that her party must be competitive and that it has not been for “a variety of reasons.” Her defeat on Tuesday was part of the GOP’s lackluster performance in races across the nation in the midterm elections, leading to reflection within the party about its leadership.

“I believe in a bright future for Michigan where we forge a path to win Republican majorities again through family-friendly policies,” Dixon wrote.

Dixon said she is announcing her plans in the coming days and appreciates the “encouragement and continued feedback” from a post she made relating to a leaked memo from the Michigan Republican Party that assessed the reasons for its struggles this year in the state.
